MIKRON
Founded in Biel (canton of Berne) in 1908, the Swiss company Maschinenfabrik MikronAG was a major stakeholder in the local clock industry during the first half of the twentieth century thanks to the quality and efficiency of its gear-cutting machines and tools. The Bernese Company has subsequently begun to manufacture other industrial equipment, ranging from machining systems to milling machines, through plastic components. Its sphere of activities has gradually expanded over the arrival of new brands into its lap; by acquiring Haesler SA, Mikron has incorporated a whole range of transfer machines for the clock industry. Same with the acquisition of Alba SA Agno, world leader in rotary transfer machines for making ballpoint pens. Entering the stock exchange in 1983, Mikron is now an essential brand in the field of precision machine tools. Its two divisions, Mikron Automation and Mikron Machining, offer a wide variety of custom and turnkey solutions: loading and unloading systems, pre-processing systems, Mikron dedicated cutting tools, pre-machining, machining, etc. The Swiss group produces precision and high performance cutting tools of small and medium sizes for the top of the range market, for all types of machining: centering, drilling, milling, boring, deburring, etc. Mikron can rely on a workforce of 1,100 highly qualified and motivated personnel. Along with its main production facilities located in Boudry and Agno in Switzerland, it has plants in Germany, China, the United States, and Singapore, in addition to business partners in several countries. The catalog of Mikron machine tools includes various models of vertical machining centers, milling machines, generation gear-cutting machines, flexible transfer machines, high precision rotary transfer machines, high speed rotary transfer machines, and linear transfer machines. Many Mikron machines are available on the second-hand market; they are checked by teams of experts as those working for RDMO to offer a quality level close to the brand-new.
